Goh Suat Hong Commemorative Symposium
This symposium will be held during SICC-5 as a special dedication to Professor Goh Suat Hong to mark his retirement from his distinguished academic career. Professor Goh is an outstanding researcher and an award-winning lecturer. He has published over 300 papers of which many are highly cited, 110 conference papers, and four book chapters. He also holds two patents. His honours include the Singapore National Science Award 1997, the ASEAN (Association of South-East Asian Nations) Committee of Science and Technology Achievement Award 1998, FACS (Federation of Asian Chemical Societies) Citation Award 2003, etc. His latest accolade is the Outstanding Alumnus Award 2007 from the College of Polymer Science and Engineering, University of Akron. He is only the 9th alumnus to have received this honour. Professor Goh is well known and respected by students for his impressive abilities in, and dedication, to teaching, and has been recognized by 11 teaching awards from the university.
Professor Goh excels in the research arena with his interests in polymer blends, fullerene-end-capped polymers and polymer/carbon nanotubes and nanocomposites. In this commemorative symposium, there will be specially invited lectures and presentations from Professor Goh’s collaborators, colleagues and guests.
